One of my FAVORITE BOOKS and Movies is getting a Prequel!!! YAY! And it looks to be an action packed, drama filled bloodbath! I can’t wait! SUPER EXCITED!

Warner Bros. has started moving forward on a prequel to the Will Smith hit “I Am Legend” with Smith in line to return as scientist Robert Neville and Francis Lawrence returning to direct.

Variety reports Akiva Goldsman and his Weed Road banner are lined up to handle producing duties with James Lassiter, Smith’s partner in Overbrook Entertainment. Warner Bros. has tapped writer D.B. Weiss to pen a script based on an outline that has been drawn up by Smith, Goldsman, Lassiter and Lawrence.

The film’s plot will follow the final days of humanity in New York before the virus wipes out the population leaving Smith as the lone survivor.

Given the events of “I am Legend,” Warner Bros. reportedly felt the prequel would be the only way to keep Smith in the lead for another film based on “Legend” – which grossed $584 million worldwide for Warner Bros.

Weiss is currently working on a screen adaptation of Neil Strauss’ book "The Game" for Spyglass Entertainment and on “Kashmir” for Relativity.

Man, I really wish Will & Boogie could get on Amazing Race or even another season of Big Brother! They are hilarious!
