This morning my coworker and I were behind a driver in a Chevy Impala, who was obviously drunk, on the I-45 HOV Lane. He was swerving back & forth and even hit the HOV walls several times. As we exited the HOV there was a Houston Metro Cop 2 cars in front of the erratic driver. We flashed our lights at him and then the driver of the Impala almost hit the cop car.

Eventually the cop pulled him over and we circled the block to see what happened and the Houston Metro Cop let him go!!! Not even a ticket for taking the HOV lane without a passenger! After the cop pulled away we were behind the Impala again and he almost hit a Metro Bus and was all over the lanes of West Gray before turning off onto San Jacinto Drive towards downtown.

I don’t understand why first of all the Metro Cop let him go, because he MUST have been intoxicated and second, why didn’t he receive a ticket for riding the HOV Alone! The cop obviously saw him because that’s where he almost hit him at. Not Fair!
